Human Resources Management Program at The University
of Nevada, Reno earns national designation by the Human Resource Certification
Institute (HRCI)
Certified human resource professionals in northern Nevada no longer need
to travel out-of-state to earn their recertification hours. The Human
Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), a national accrediting agency,
recently designated the human resources management certificate program
offered by Extended Studies at the University of Nevada as an approved
provider of recertification credits for HRCI through 2007.
The approved-provider designation for Extended Studies at the university
places the University of Nevada, Reno among an exclusive group of
official providers of recertification credits for HRCI, which includes
institutions such as Cornell University, Kent State University and the
American Institute of Human Resources.
"Certification in human resource management is important because it
provides one more way for individuals in the field to be recognized for
their expertise," Shera Alberti-Annunzio, program development specialist
for Extended Studies, said. "We are honored to have been designated
as
an approved provider. HR professionals and businesses benefit from the
knowledge that the training they are receiving from Extended Studies is
recognized by a national organization and meets stringent requirements."
HRCI grants professional certification to human resource managers after
completion of extensive training in a code of ethics and an objective
measure of technical competence. Those who have already earned
certification in Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior
Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with the HRCI must recertify
every three years and can now earn the required 60 credit hours through
the human resources management certificate program at the University of
Nevada, Reno.
