High School Independent Learning Courses
General Information
These high school independent learning courses
can:
Study by mail or online
Communication between student and instructor is by
mail, fax or by e-mail when available. Several high school courses are also
available online. Students have a year in which to complete independent learning
courses. The minimum time allowed for course completion is six (6) weeks
from the date that the first lesson is received at the independent learning
office. Completing an independent learning course without daily supervision
is an extremely challenging process. We recommend to our students that they
treat our courses just like any other class and that they make an appointment
with themselves on a regular basis and faithfully pursue readings and assignments.
Our courses offer an opportunity for an excellent and rewarding learning
experience. Expect one course to be equivalent to a 16-week on-campus course,
with the corresponding workload and dedication of time.
Course listings
Included in our High School Courses (PDF) is the information you need to begin

Department of Education states: "Credit may be granted for independent learning
courses taken through a correspondence school which is approved by the State
Board of Education and provided the course is equivalent to courses offered
in the local school district secondary school program." Our courses
are approved by the State Board of Education, however credit is granted by
the school whose requirements you wish to fulfill. It is your responsibility
to ascertain before enrollment that the course(s) chosen meet the requirements

cheating on examinations, or plagiarizing in any way can result in
a variety of penalties, such as resubmission of lessons, re-examination,
