Noncredit Fees
Professional Development courses: Fees are listed with each course. A portion of fees may be used to pay hosting expenses.

Noncredit Registration Requirements
Payment of the full tuition and fees and a completed registration form are required to register for noncredit courses offered through Extended Studies. Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline for registration is one week prior to the start of class, unless otherwise specified in the course description. Registrations are accepted in the order received; if a course is full, you will be placed on a waiting list. Early registration is advised. Many classes are filled prior to the first meeting and have limited space. Courses are subject to cancellation if the minimum enrollment is not met.

Please note: The course you want may be cancelled if you delay your registration.

Method of Payment
You may pay your fees with cash, check, money order, company purchase order (third-party payment) or by VISA, Mastercard, Discover or American Express. All checks should be made payable to Board of Regents. Payment is due at time of registration.

Your registration is not final until it has been reviewed for completeness and your payment has been processed by our enrollment services staff. Once your payment has been processed, you will receive a confirmation letter verifying your official enrollment in the course. The confirmation letter will also contain specific information or any special instructions related to your course.

Financial Assistance
Financial assistance for continuing education and professional development may be available to eligible students enrolled in the university's Extended Studies courses.

Tax Deduction for Educational Expenses
According to current regulations, you may deduct expenses such as enrollment fees, books, supplies, parking, and related travel and living costs under certain conditions. Please contact the appropriate tax agency (state/federal) for detailed information.

Parking on Campus
To park in university lots, a proper permit is required and must be displayed Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. unless otherwise noted. On weekends, areas are not enforced except for those specifically designated as reserved or enforced 24 hours a day. Meters or temporary permits are available for campus visitors. For more information, please contact Parking Services at (775) 784-4654.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
If a class is cancelled by Extended Studies, a full refund will be issued and enrolled students will be notified via phone and/or email.

  1. A nonrefundable administrative fee of 15 percent of the total enrollment fee will be assessed per course cancellation for participant-initiated refunds.
  2. If you need to cancel your enrollment, you must notify Extended Studies enrollment services at (775) 784-4062 or 1-800-233-8928 by noon, the day before the start of the course (excluding weekends and holidays) to receive a full refund minus the administrative fee. Please note: Informing your instructor is not sufficient notice for a refund.
  3. No refunds will be given for cancellation or refund requests received the day of class or anytime thereafter.
  4. You may transfer your fees to another course, without penalty, if you notify Extended Studies enrollment services at (775) 784-4062 or 1-800-233-8928 by noon, the day before the start of the course (excluding weekends and holidays).
  5. Some courses or programs have additional refund policies as noted in their descriptions.
  6. You should receive your refund in the mail in approximately three weeks.
  7. Refunds granted for credit card charges will be credited to the original account charged.

For additional information, please call Extended Studies at (775) 784-4046 or 1-800-233-8928.
